RE: DuBois Stones
So glad to help. I have made it a habit ,that when I am searching for a particular headstone, to photograph as many headstones as possible. Especially headstones that are in jeopardy of being destroyed by the elements. I have photographed many cemeteries in the area where I live and it has paid off. Especially in your case, I already had the photos. The largest cemetery contained a bit over 7,700 headstones. Unfortunately, there are many headstones that are no longer readable, and an even greater number of grave sites that are not marked.

I am retired after 42 years at Cornell University, and find that helping others with their search for family members is an extension of my Family History Search.

Edwin Alden - Wood
I'll pick up his picture the next time I go. I have still 4 requests to do.

Samuel E Alden - Wood National Cemetery
Find A Grave Memorial# 266531. I added his marker picture.

I did this because I am using him as a location of the grave to the south of him, which is very hard to read. Which was requested. Find A Grave Memorial# 2905035. There is a plot picture on that memorial of the 3 marks and area.

Joe Escott
RE: Thank you.
My mother is Shelley, Tom Escott's Daughter. I'm sort of the anomaly, my mother was in her teens and never married my father, which is why I'm still on the Escott side instead of

Up until recently, I haven't given a great deal of thought to ancestry, mostly because I didn't have the time. Currently, my wife and I are sort of "trying" to have children, and it kind of hits you when you're continuing the line that you should really start getting comfortable with the history.

If you follow...

Thank you.

I've been surfing this website for some time trying to find out about members of a somewhat distant part of my family, and only now did I decide to actually get involved, Thanks to you.

I decided to look up my close family, and knowing you'd gone to the trouble of adding some significant connections, not only to the deceased members but to the ones still living got me kind of choked up.

I really, really appreciate your efforts. Keep up the good work, please, for all of us.

Philancy Robinson
Hello Kay,
I have added the information to Philancy's memorial. I am not related, just recording all burials in Oak Hill Cemetery. Would you like me to transfer her to you? How about her husband?
Take care,

Herman Vogt
Is Herman Vogt that is buried in Bridgewater Cemetery, Bridgewater SD a relative of yours?

Alma Roby O'brien
Kay, would you consider removing that newspaper photo of her? I added a better one of about the same time and I have a 1920's one I would like to add.

Robert Pierce
Ruth M Pierce
I noticed on the gravesite copy for Ed Pierce:

Mom always told me that she did not have a middle name. Apparently, this was not uncommon in her day. She simply used the middle initial "M" as her middle name.

Also, I never saw Penny's name written "Penelope" I think her legal name is just "Penny."

2nd Email
The second Email with only 2 attached photos seems to have gone through. And I have translated the inscription. It is the English of Rev. 14:13 from the King James Bible.
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."
Perhaps it is only the last half of the verse.

Rupp cemetery and Email
I was able to get photos today and have posted two to the cemetery and memorial. I tried to send you an email with all the photos attached but it was rejected. Maybe it's too large. If you have a new email address let me know. Meanwhile I'll try reducing it's size.
