RE: Thies Obits
I did search for Jozef and his wife Josephine anddid not have any luck.

I spent the day looking up any Suleski's in NY, PA and found many. I created memorials for any that had cemeteries listed. You can check on Find A Grave and see if they are extended family.

RE: Wladyslaw Renkiewicz
I don't know that much about Polish spelling, RYNKIEWICZ may be like German language where the F is equal or same to the V, D = T, I = Y, and so on. They are interchangeable.

In English we have vowels a-e-i-o-u and sometimes y.
I think because sometimes the y becomes an i in a word. Old English spelling time and tyme, etc.

ALL very complicated!!!

RE: Exaltation, Holy Cross
I can not comment on the accuracy of the Nanticoke Historical Society Records. I have not visited them nor used their records.

I got my information from visiting (1):

Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish
420 Main Road Buttonwood
Wilkes-Barre. PA 18702
Catholic Directory #55299
Fr. James Gahagan
Phone: 570-823-6242
FAX: 570-829-4732
Latitude 41.221810 Degrees
Longitude -75.943735 Degrees

AND from (2) visiting the cemetery which is located:

Off West Poplar Street
West Nanticoke, PA 18634
Latitude 41.221293 Degrees
Longitude -76.029779 Degrees
This is a difficult cemetery to find and get to.

I recommend you visit the parish before you go back to the cemetery. If my memory is correct they had a plot plan and listing for my relatives there. Perhaps you can verify the records you have with them.

To add to the confusion there are at least three (3) cemeteries on the same grounds as the "Exaltation of the Holy Cross" Parish Cemetery. If my memory is correct there was a Monument with the name of the cemetery on it but I do not have a picture of it. There are no boundaries like fences or walls or trees etc between them.

The coordinates I gave above are for the center of the "Exaltation of the Holy Cross" Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery in West Nanticoke, PA. If you do not have a GPS Unit use the most eastern entrance to the cemeteries off West Poplar Road. Of all the cemeteries located at this location, Exaltation is at the most eastern edge and will be the first one you will come to if you used the most eastern entrance off West Poplar Road.

Given the young age of your relatives you reference it would not surprise me that they might not have a headstone. You can verify with the parish that at the time of your referenced burials it was not uncommon to place them in the family plot without a headstone. From the parishes plot records you might be able to locate the actual burial site.

Hope you find the information I provided above was useful to you and good luck in your search.

Hi John, Ancestry release the death certificate for PA 1900 or 1905- 1944. I found two brothers of my grandpa Frank, their parents names were right on the DC, both are buried at St Hedwigs. A gal did have a photo of Andrew's HS, she had been there before and took a lot of photo's.

I saw your family name there too, you had a memorial up. Are you still with Luzerne connects, we are on FB now. Yahoo kept changing the format and putting a lot of ad's in. I hope everybody brought their photo albums over to FB because I got a notice from yahoo, the group was going to expire.

Have a great weekend

Yes I'm a family member through Sarah Durkee who married Asa Munn. Why are there memorials for two different cemeteries?

Munn's
Now I'm thoroughly confused, I've seen several of the Munn family buried in two different cemeteries along with photographs of the markers. Are they the same cemetery just called different names.

Sorry, I don't have any other info. Luckily, the photo has the plot number - you could call the cemetery, give them the name and plot number and see what's in their records.

Good luck!
