George Burk
Hi Tim! Thank you SO much for the article you posted about the funeral of George Burk - I had no idea why he died but knew it was sudden and at age 36. My husband is a great-nephew of his. Are you related to the Burks also?

James Coston
D.L. (David) Vanwinkle, Peoria
Morning Tim,
I have the Vanwinkle fotos that U requested but there is a glitch.
The layout I found was D.L., Darcus, Margaret and Rebecca from left to right.
Two problems: Someone put in D.L. Wan Winkle using the foto of the marker that I found beside Darcus, obviously the correct person, spouses beside each other.
That's just a given but here's the glitch. The engraved birth info sez Dec 28. 1882 which is way off base since his bday is in 1829 and these are large, expensive markers.
So lies the quandary. The type of material makes the fotos look bad, difficult to read but when the foto is enlarged, the initials are difinately D.L. vs: B.L. & to make it even more of a mystery, the death dates on the two entries are exact. Logically that makes the marker the correct one but with a birth entry that is wrong.
Any idea who this B.L. might be, if he exists ??
Or since it's your request, U want me to go ahead and post the marker as is. ???
Later, James Coston

Glad to do it. The cemetery is locked. Happened to see this one on the fence line. I will email the contact person to see about getting in to get pics for the other requests. Several headstones were destroyed by vandals so it is now locked.

Tim, Thank you for info on the picture of Alexander Boggs Boren and wife. Do you have any pictures that date further back say to his dad, Henry who died in Lee-Peacock feud after Civil War. Alexander's grandfather, William Boren married to Julia Ann Dye, William is my ancestor, does anyone have any pictures of him? William's father is James Boren, mother Nancy (last name unknown - some people think she was Cherokee, (I do not). On the internet, some say Nancy's last name is Mun. I don't see any proof of this? I appreciate any information.

The picture of Alexander, wife & child
Can anyone confirm that the young lady in the picture is Nellie Boren who died in 1929 I believe? Does anyone have a date on that picture. Alexander looks like he is in middle seventies? Do you think the picture was taken maybe 1920-25?

P. Eadie
Taylor Family
Hi Tim,
While photographing Hollingshead Taylor's gravestone, we discovered that he is buried with additional family members, Evaline (1857-1922), Charlotte h ( 1823- 1906) and Nathan (1821-1861). If you would post memorial pages for these family members, I would be happy to upload the photos to their sites. Please advise. Thanks, Pat

RE: Miles Abernathy
Hi. Got your message about Miles Abernathy. I have 8 Miles Abernathys in my ancestry tree and of course they are all related. I feel pretty certain about linking Miles Washington Abernathy, buried in Jacksonville City Cemetery, Jacksonville, AL., to John D. Abernathy. I will email you again later when I have time to tell you all the reasons for this. Have you looked at my ancestry tree? I will get back with you. Thanks Little Marie

I was just using for a reference.

The above is the link to Bartolemew Abernathy and Mary Wadsworth Family.
I do not not have any evidence other than this for his family. I am currently just in the stage of adding what I can and then hoping to start verifying this year. This is not a direct family line of mine. My husband is a descendant of the Tillman family, and Robert Abernathy married Christine Tillman married around 1690.

Please let me know if there is anything else for information that I can help with.
