RE: Bayside Cemetery
I am honored to do it.
The people buried at Bayside deserve to rest in peace and the families and descendants deserve to have a peaceful, safe place to visit.
I dont know if you have been there lately but it has improved allot thanks to the efforts of many people but there is still allot that needs to be dealt with. I am confidant that things are going to continue to get better. The damage and neglect took place over many decades and its going to take a while to fix it.
If you want to contact me my email address is

Bayside Cemetery
I have made the additions that you requested to the listings.
I have been a volunteer at Bayside for several years now. One of the main reasons I started working there was because of the children buried in the Michaels Family plot. I had know about the problems at Bayside for years and decided to take a walk around it one day with my teenage son. I couldn't believe how bad it was towards the back where this plot was. While we were walking, I saw the stone with the small angel ( Sarah) on it in the plot and read the inscription, it moved me deeply. I thought of my own child. My daughter was born 2 months early and nearly died, luckily she was born into a world with the ability to keep her alive, something these people did not have the benefit of. I thought to my self how outrageous it was that people were being disrespected in such a way (especially children) and swore that I would do what I could to make it right. I contacted the city about the unbelievable desecration that I found that day (open mausoleums, bones exposed ect) When that went no where I reluctantly contacted the media which did stories on it and the congregation was shamed into correcting it. At that same time I went back with my son and cleaned up the Michaels plot, painted the fence, ect.

What a shame. What does the "Baker" stone represent on her Findagrave page?

Hello,
Could you possibly take and add a picture of Shirley Booth's headstone? She is interred at Mt. Hebron Cem., New Jersey.
Thank you,
HMW

I had already responded for "Bricktop" before you had posted these two. So thanks again, especially since one of them didn't have any location information at all.

Cheers,

Now sure whether you got my message about transferring my uncles memorial over to me. I would like to manage it. Thanks. Jim

Just a hint for taking photos for old headstones. Carry a bottle of water. If the dates are hard to read, pour the water over the stone and take a photo. The sunlight will reflect on the water and let you see the dates and the water will not hurt the stone.

No flavors of course LOL
