Thank you Matt for posting the photo of John Rice Arnold Rhodes, the headstone looks pretty worn. Were you able to get any photos that show the text better? I do appreciate the photo, thank you so much for your effort.

She doesn't know much about them, we just discovered them, but if you wouldn't mind transferring them I'd like to manage their pages.

Thank you!

Thank you for such a quick post of Fritz and Mathilda Heden's headstone. Are you related to either one?

Hi Matthew, I just read your description on the above named cemetery, that is heartbreaking. Do you think that anything has changed since then, that note you posted was in 2008? I see that you were only able to take one photo that day.
I Googled that cemetery and came up with Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Commission but can find not date for their inception so have no idea if this is before or after your visit but someone's comment was "in good condition enclosed with a stone wall; sign in fair condition" made me chuckle after your remarks. Is this anywhere close to you that you might be able to take another look? I would love to have a photo of Capt. Joseph Spicer's headstone 1765-1842. Thanks

Thanks Matthew, I'm glad that you didn't have to make a trip to the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery to discover that I made an assumption based on coincidence...but you already knew that. Your photos are great. Thanks for all your work.

With smiles and chagrin, Alice

Thank you so much for the effort you went to. Maybe someone along the way has taken photos of these headstones.

I appreciate you checking and am grateful to you.

Thank you Matthew,

It looks as though the family was frugile and added all of John's wives on his memorial. Do you have any idea what the transcription is on this stone?

I'm glad you found it for me and am very grateful to you.

You work fast. I think I only requested the photo yesterday or this morning.

Once again, I wish to express my sincerest thanks to you. I now know something more about my ancestors I did not know before and it is because you once again took the time to fill a photo request.

Thank you very much for your unselfish volunteer work for others, particularly me. I am sure there are many others who are also grateful, but are unsure of how to express it. Know that we all appreciate you and your efforts with Find A Grave.

RE: Photo request for Anderson
I just came across your message. Thank you for your work photographing Bethany Lutheran Cemetary. I have 4 generations of my family buried there and have visited and cared for their graves for over 40 years. My gg grandfather's name is Carl A Anderson and his wife Mathilda A. and I did find the photos. Thanks again! Leslie Fernandes

You may want to use a photo of the distinguished former Missouri Pacific RR KIRKWOOD STATION in Kirkwood, MO on Mr. Kirkwood's Find-A-Grave photo panel. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a symbol of this historic namesake Missouri community as well as the Pacific Railroad which he helped design and build.
You may obtain it from the website for the City of Kirkwood, MO on GOOGLE.

RE: Grave Transfers
Thanks, Michael. You transferred the older Asa Bennett to me. I wanted the younger one, #24229090. If you want the first one back, I'll send him back to you.

I saw on your page that you are retired from the NYPD. I have a sister who works at the WTC for the PA. I thought you might have relatives down this way.

It's funny though -- my daughter lives in New Bedford, MA. She used to live in Providence.

I really like it that you are doing those small cemeteries in Rhode Island. It makes you feel like you've accomplished something, but you don't have to keep going to the same place to take pictures all the time, and I noticed that some of them are in pretty bad shape.

I did most of Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn, NJ. It has over 11,000 memorials and counting, but it gets rather boring to keep going to the same place all the time. I try to split my time up among several of the older, larger cemeteries in Paterson & Totowa because the requests tend to get old.

Cedar Lawn in Paterson is one of my favorites because it is very historic. The silk barons of the late 1800s and early 1900s are buried there with large monuments. It represents a long gone era.

RE: Rhoda Bennett

Okay, I'll take the following 4 off your hands for now.

Asa Bennett #24229090
Rhoda Bennett #24312252
Alice K. Bennett #24312090
Willard Bennett #24312756

I will let you know if I see that you have any more of my relatives. By the way, you're like me -- I would rather see the memorials in the hands of relatives than in mine if I'm not related to them.

Thank you,
Vick O'Halloran
