Bryan Allen
allen family
My grandfather was John Millard Allen. My father was his son Paul D. Allen and he was 8years old when his father passed away in 1947. He has never spoken of his family to any of my bothers or Sisters. Like you i am trying to find information on the Allen family. When i was a child i visited my father half bother Abe Allen. I know his father passed away in 1947 and his mother Thilda Payne Allen, do you think John was upset about his mother's passing??? I love to be pen pals with you to talk or write. Anyway you don't even know about this Allen family? I know from my uncle Jimmy(James Allen) that my grandfather is in Hell's Hollow Cemetary.

Thanks Bryan Jeffery Allen

RE: Grandfather
I never knew who my grandfathers parents where. Grandfather died as a result of an injury in the copper mines in Copper Hill, Tenn. Minnie Ash Garrett was my mother and she as well as all her siblings are listed the Ash Family book that you mentioned.

Grandpa was married to Sarah Bryant Ash when he died. Grandma died in Dalton Georgia around 1962.

A couple of folks other than myself that he is kin to is Steve, Bobby, and Richard Ash. The last time I saw them was at Grandmas funeral. they live in Rome at that time.............that is Georgia of course and not Italy.

When I was about 10 we went to a Ash faimly reuion that was held the first Sunday in September each year in Blue Ridge.

If you or Jeffery would like to contact me via email you can reach me at brg6647@bellsouth.net

Mary Madalina Alltop Weekley
Hi Beth,

I'm working on my family tree and am confused by Mary Madalina Alltop Weekley, wife of Benjamin Weekley. On several family trees and in your find a grave entry I see her maiden name listed alternately as Ackley and Alltop. Was one of those her maiden name and one a first marriage? I see you have added a great deal of information on the find a grave entry which leads me to hope you are related or that you might be able to help me solve this riddle.

Thanks, Robyn

Morrison, Jones, Hill, and others
Beth, thank you for you services to Find A Grave. You will never know what it means to people like me, who because of age and health problems can no longer visit cemeteries. I have been on my genealogy journey since the 80's and am trying so hard to leave as much info as I can on my family files at Ancestry and on Family Tree Maker. I am hoping that my descendants and others will avail themselves to all this info I have sought so diligently. I hope you won't mind my making copies of your photos for my family files.
May God richly bless you for helping others in such a good way.

There is a name that needs to be added to your list of children for Thomas Payne. That would be my Grandfather Sylvester Payne that moved to Florida in the 1960"s. Sylvester is a brother to the following

I am trying to trace members of the Sheck family, connections of my family tree. I see you have that this child was the son of Christopher &Jane (Parley) Sheck. Do you have a source for that information? There are records out there saying a possible brother with the same name & parents came to Michigan, died here in 1871 and was buried at the same cemetery in NB. This is confusing to me, so if there is a solid record saying the child in your memorial is in fact the son of C & J Sheck, that would settle my confusion. Thanks

David Lloyd Watson
Question
Hi Beth,
It's been awhile that I have written you but was wondering where you might have gotten the picture that you put on Rufus Watson's Memorial page #21130628. It is so dark and I would like to track down a copy of the actual Photo. It looks like it may have been copied out of book, but someone as the real picture that I maybe can talk into making me a copy or coping it and putting it on here or facebook so I can save it to my Computer. And would this be the only picture of Rufus that you may have. I have nothing myself except for a copy of your picture that you put on his page. Anyway I wish you a Mighty Fine Day. David L. Watson

SweetCarolineage
RE: Hey Caroline
Good morning, Beth:

Actually, my name is Theresa. I live in South Carolina, so I just did a name play on the song, Sweet Caroline and family lineage:)

I am Mabel Lanier's daughter. Cliff was her dad. And, funny that you should mention Larry Carpenter. I just noticed his name yesterday as manager of Tempie Eliza's memorial. My mom recalls his name, but couldn't recall who exactly he is. I haven't had any interaction with him so far. I'm primarily interested in direct descendants of the Laniers, Clouds, and Pridmores.

Thanks for all the transfers. I'm trying to get as much ancestry information together as possible for my great niece and nephew. Hopefully, they won't have to spend the years searching that I have.

Take care and have a blessed week...and thanks for the tip.

Pulaska Brooks aka Knox Brooks #33547667
I have been trying very hard to find a death date for Pulaski Knox Brooks (Pulaska on the tombstone), with no success. The tombstone looks as though it was put up by the Sons of Confederate Veterans and has no information other than his Confederate service. I don't know if you took the photo in Shiloh Cemetery in Clay County, but there is a funeral home plate at the base of the stone with the name Knox Brooks. I am wondering if there is funeral home or other information on that metal plate that is stuck into the ground. It appears that he died sometime in 1907, since there is an entry in the Confederate pension book indicating that his son handled the final expenses. No dates, unfortunately

Pulaski Brooks was my g-g grandfather, but since my grandmother died when my father was very young, I never had any ties to that side of the family. I would love fill in this puzzle piece in my family history.
