If he was then he was a brother to Amos Searles, my 4 great grandfather. I find it interesting that there are 3 ways to spell this last name.

I accepted your photo request for William and inserted his headstone picture in his memorial.
He is buried in a family plot with 8 others. Sharing this plot are Edith, William H (Jr), Emma V., Rilla L., William H. Jennings, Jane Jennings Koepke Roush, Joseph T. Koepke, Marie Jennings McGunigle, and Catherine Fox.
I will check to see if they have memorial within f-a-g. If they do not, I will establish a memorial.
Would you like me to transfer ownership of these to you? I would be happy to.

|Jane Foster||Elijah Farnsworth|
I saw that you were interested in Elijah Farnsworth. Here is some trivia for you: From "The Woodford County History" 1968: What is known as the Farnsworth House is the present home of the Vyrl Gronewalds built by Mrs. Mary E. Farnsworth who came to Cazenovia Twp in 1844, it was sold to Henry and Margaret (Calvert) Foster for their oldest son, William Jeter Foster. Henry, whose great granddaughter, Mary Gronewald now owns it. During the time of the underground railway, abolutionists held their meetings there, in the only third-floor room in the community.
This farmhouse is located just off US Route 89 on Banta Road. Maybe a half mile off Rte 89. Vet's clinic at the turnoff with a gravel road real quick to the right. First house on the right. Is falling down now. Robert has built a log cabin just back of old house and a little to the right.
This house was one of those that had 2 staircases to the upstairs. No pass through from one side to the other. Rumor says that at one time there was an underground passway from the house to the barn. Don't know whether that was true or not. Helen Clark passed that along.
Henry & Mgt (Calvert) Foster had 12 children. William Jeter Foster was their oldest son, the Farnsworth farm was puchased for him. William Jeter Foster married LuLu Ramsey and they had 2 children: Bernard Dale Foster 1901-1978 and Margaret Josephine Foster 1905-1959. Mgt married Charles Herman Heck 1900-1974 and they had Mary Elizabeth Heck 1927-1989. Mary married Vyrl Dwain Gronewald 1919-2001. They had 2 children: Diane Lynn Gronewald 1953- and Robert D. Gronewald 1959- . Robert lives on the old Farnsworth farm in a log cabin. Diane married Robin Lee Zoss 1950- and they had 2 children: Jennifer Diane Zoss 1979- and Christopher Robin Zoss 1983- .
This is probably more info than you ever wanted. Sometimes I don't know when to stop.
When I first saw the old Farnsworth house, I thought of a sea-going captain maybe designing the house. Too bad no one made ongoing repairs - just let the old house go to ruin. The house we live in is maybe a half mile to the north and just as old - but has been kept up.
Just curious, was Mary Farnsworth a wife or dau of Elijah? If I every knew, I have forgotten.

|Flo Moscon||Abijah Farnsworth date of death|
Hope this email finds you in good health. Hope you remember me it has be a few years. I have located Abijah's date of death in the online file from GenealogyBank.
It is in the form of a accouncment in the Vermont Republican dated 6-1-1812.
It reads: DIED - At Woodstock, on Friday last, after a long, distressing illness, which he sustained with uncommon fortitude and Christian composure, Mr. ABIJAH FARNSWORTH, aged 40. He has left a widow and six children to mourn the afflicting dispensation.
So looking a the 1812 calendar - the Friday last would be May 29, 1812.
Hope this helps

|Dean Sliger||Joseph "Mine Lick" Allison|
Joseph Allison also had a second wife, Elvira Elbridge. They married about 1864 and had three children: Joseph Robert, Elizabeth Nancy Ann, and Mary Jennie. I do not know where Elivra is buried; she may be the one buried at the Judd Cemetery in Putnam County.
"Mine Lick" was my 4th great-grandfather.
