RE: Nancy Bacon
Hi! I believe I have enough proof to show that Mary C Bacon was the oldest daughter of Charles Bacon and Uratha Hale. If you need me to email the census records, I will be happy to. Do you have oral history of Native American in the family? I have a photo of Mary Bacon's granddaughter who very clearly is Indian. I can share that if you would like, as well. If you provide an email address. Thanks! Jean C

RE: Findagrave memorials
Would you please go to the memorial you want a link added to. In the top right is an Edit button. Click on that, and make your request. That way I have the correct memorial and can make the link, etc.

Find A Grave Memorial# 60156781, SAR Ancestor #P-118972
I didn't find your William Boyd in the DAR ancestor database; is there a spelling or name variation I overlooked?

I am in the process of updating his entry in the SAR Ancestor database, as may be seen soon at

He is named in a memorial at the Fayetteville (Arkansas) National Cemetery, placed by my home chapter, General Lafayette, of Fayetteville.

I can send you a copy of the marriage record for Sam and Nancy for 1845. However, it was signed by a Patterson. Part of the lower right page corner is blackened. - dennis

RE: Samuel Banks & Nancy Green
It is good to hear from you. I checked by source for Chancery Court records and there was not a divorced for a John and Nancy Banks. It is likely that she died prior to 1850. I can check the cemetery index books at the Fayetteville Library Genealogy Dept. the next I am there. May not find one that old. Have a nice day. - dennis

RE: Samuel Austin Banks
I had to go back to my file to see what the Banks information regarded. I was assisting another person in finding history for Banks families in Benton and Washington County, Arkansas. I have not sent him all the history from the Shiloh Museum to date and none of it has been added to find-a-grave by me. However, the Samuel Banks person born 1818 in Alabama, shows to be in Madison Couny with his wife, Elizabeth, and 4 young children in 1850. This person I have not researched. The information I have is for Washington Co only. I have a marriage record dated 5th or 9th Sept 1845, Marriage Book A, pg 8. This is one of the earliest recorded marriages in Washington Co. Since your Samuel Banks and his son Jordan lived in Washington Co, it would be consistant to assume that Nancy Green Banks died before 1850. She does not appear in 1850. It was apparent that his wife or wives were deceased from the 1850 Census for Washington Co. The ages were not given in the marriage record since both were noted as being over the legal age or such term. I do not find another Samuel Banks in Washington Co for 1850. We do have very good cemetery records for all cemeteries in the county; and I would be glad to check them the next time I am in Fayetteville for Nancy Banks. You may want to look at the 1840 US Census for Washington Co, Ark. There is a Samuel Banks 50-59, one female 15-19, one male slave 0-10, one female slave 24-35. If this is your Samuel, then his first wife was deceased by 1840. The only Samuel Banks in Washington Co at that time, purchased land from the US Govt. on 10 March 1843 and 01 May 1845. -- dennis
