RE: Masonic Memorial in Doddridge County
Thanks for the kind note.
I was also at Coleman, which is attached to Masonic Memorial. There were Dotson interred there as well, and I'll let you know if I find anything in my photos not already documented on Find A Grave.

RE: Ida May Smith - Germantown Cemetery
Cathie, you are too kind. I sent you an email with the obituary. Well, really, I sent you two emails. I forgot to attach the obituary to the first one. That's what I get for not getting more sleep. I really need to work on that. LOL

I'll see what else I can find for you and will send it your way.

Happy Researching! :)

Ida May Smith - Germantown Cemetery
Hi Cathie,

I was trying to do some research on the Smith family for you. The cemetery's records for the date of death are not always correct. I found Ida's death certificate on Family Search. She passed away on February 1, 1912 and was buried there February 4, 1912, according to her death certificate. Her parents were John Hartle and Ann Norford. Ida was born July 4, 1858 in Maryland.

I found a small obituary for her. If you would like for me to send it to you, let me know. When I get a chance, I will try to look up the others. I know George William Smith, Sr. was born August 9, 1830 in Frederick Co., Maryland and died August 17, 1909 in Montgomery Co., Germantown, OH. His father's name was Henry Smith, but no mother was listed. Martin Smith was the informant. I'll try to see if I can find an obituary for him. I don't have access to papers for the time George Jr. passed at this time.

Hope this helps you in your research.

RE: Thank You
I photographed the ones that had a gravestone. I didn't see one for William or the infant. I did photograph, Sarah, George Sr., George Jr., and Ida. Someone had already added Irvin. William died June 16, 1928. No date for the infant. The records had the infant of C & I, but I think that was an error. I think it should have read G & I.

To the left of their family plot were the Sheaffer family and to the right the Taylor family. What was Ida's maiden name?

Hope that helps.

RE: Thank You
You're welcome, Cathie, and thanks for the kind note.

I find grave sites in that cemetery by walking it. I've been looking for Vernon Poole since you posted the photo request. I thought he surely had to be among those buried in the family plots, but he was not. He was the only Poole in that section....and I almost missed it. Almost. I feel badly for not having been able to unearth the whole plate, so I may go back. I just wasn't equipped that day to do it. Cindy

RE: Patricia Heater
Oops, sorry Cathie.
Actually, I am not related to Richard Dotson through this line, I am related through William Dotson's brother, Emanuel, not his son Emmanuel.
I found Patricia (Dotson) Heater's parents and have linked them to her memorial. If you are fine tuning this line, I will transfer Patricia's memorial to you in case there's more you need to add at some point. And if you run across anyone else in this line whose memorial I have, please let me know and I'll transfer them, too.
Regards,
Terry Beth
