|Phyllis (Porter) Zegers||Earl Dotson|
Hi, My name is Phyllis Zegers. I have been researching patients who have died at the Oregon State Hospital and whose cremains were never claimed. The person I am currently researching is Earl Dotson. I have been updating his Find A Grave memorial (# 69403467) by adding his death certificate and developing his biography. However I don't know much about him. I see that you left a flower in 2012 and have the same last name. Do you happen to know more about Earl? I was hoping my research might lead to living relatives who would want to claim his ashes that are still available at the state hospital. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Cathy, Thank you for your sweet note. I appreciate your words of encouragement and support. Thanks to you, Betty and everyone else for their tireless devotion to the Dotson My Family site and the successful transfer of all the family treasures into Ancestry.

Thanks for the transfer, Cathie I'll take good care of him -- and thanks for the compliment, but it's just that I understand (and can afford) this site. I bow before you and Betty et al with all your amazing work with the Dotsons on MyFamily and (grumble grumble) Ancestry. I hope we can find a good new home.
Its all a collaboration -- an amazing journey walking together from present to past and back again!
Thanks for all you are doing --

Thank you for noticing that Francis is spelled with an "I". You and I both know that the masculine form of Francis is with an I and the feminine form is with an E. I received the family chart from a family member who had access to the family bible. They have Fannie's name spelled with an I. It was intentional that I created the memorial with an I instead of an E and not just a typo. If you have any documentation such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate showing Fannie's spelling with an E I'd gladly change it. I believe that the families education was very limited and that they didn't realize there was a difference. I posted the chart on Fannie's memorial.

I am happy to have been a service. I like to think we all add a little color and it paints a picture. Happy Trails.

I noticed you attached a birth record for an Abel Richardson on Memorial 57828455. I don't believe they are the same person. According to 1850 census, multiple Abel's exist. My Abel living in Ohio indicates birth in NY. Several Abel's born in Mass during the mid 1770s with continued Mass residence are also indicated on the census. Please let me know if you believe my assumption is incorrect.
Thanks and Regards, Mindy P.

Hi, while researching my Grandfather I came across this website
Lucia's headstone photo is there. You might want to contact the person there who took the photo and see if they would be willing to post it to her memorial.

This all peaked my curiosity once again. I had come across Samuel & Mary Jane (Duckworth) in my research and then of couse Mary Jane Dotson showed up with Wm. C. However, I haven't made a solid connection to the family. My gr-gr-grandmother was Permalia (Jarvis) Ellefrits (Find A Grave #51382235, wife of George). So probably George and Samuel are tied together somehow. Feel free to use any of my Find A Grave info that might be helpful.

Thank you for the information. I will make the changes. Don't remember the exact connection off the top of my head, however, my Ellefritz line connects to a Dotson in WV - Mary Jane I believe it was.

What is your relationship? I will usually only transfer memorials within Find A Grave
guidelines: "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
I will be happy to make any changes you request if they are supported by documentation, etc.

I am so glad to help. I really enjoy the old cemeteries. I am sorry that I could not find Elisha Fleming in the Wadesville Cemetery. It was likely one to the very worn stones there.

|One 2 Wander||RE: Umphrey Shepperd|
I have to question his second wife as Lucinda Rogers. I only say this because if you look at his headstone it shows a wife by the name of Nancy B. His first wife was Nancy Jane Rogers and she is buried in Concordia Kansas. I have been to her grave site, it is in a Family Plot bought by Umphrey long before he went back to Indiana. He left Kansas after the death of Nancy Jane. She died 15 years before him so the Nancy on the headstone is not her! I'm heading to Indiana on a genealogy mission with a friend and I hope to come across the correct information. Do you have a marriage date or record that states he married Lucinda Rogers? And Thanks for the kind words
