Purcell Children
Georgia M Smith, mother of Ernest James McDowell, Wilma McDowell Schneider, and Ruth Engle, was married to Donald Purcell, the birth father of my mother-in-law, Phyllis Ann Knapp Purcell Wheeler Knapp. Phyllis' mother was Louise Knapp, who probably was married to Donald after the birth of Phyllis, as she and Donald went on to have 3 more children: Ardith, Arlene, and Edward Purcell. Donald and Georgia were married sometime before 1940, when they are found living together in Kent County.

Georgia's daughter, Ruth, was the product of her marriage to Herman Engle, whom she married on the 8th of October, 1920 in Grand Rapids. There is a record of their marriage at https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N3B2-8XQ. She is listed as Georgia Smith McDowell. She married Harvey McDowell in Harrison County, West Virginia, on the 9th of Feb, 1913. Perhaps you already had this information? If not, I hope this helps. :)

Denise Lemon Knapp
Phyllis and her husband, Jack Knapp, were not related by blood. Louise Knapp's Knapp family was from Ohio. Jack's was from New England.

RE: Evelyn M. (Reil) Koning (1927-2011)
Hi Jacq,
We all have relatives on Find a Grave but we can't go and make duplicate records just because we are related. It gets really confusing for linking people together and adds so much clutter to the data banks. The proper channel is to use the edit tab to request a transfer and then administer the record.

Have you read the rules about making duplicates as stated by Find a Grave? "Because so many people add data to Find A Grave, there are often duplicate cemeteries and duplicate memorials added. This is a very common situation and is quite difficult to resolve in a way that keeps everyone happy. Before adding a memorial, you should search the cemetery to see if a record with that name has already been added. If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial you should use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. You should never deliberately create a duplicate memorial. "

We all have to abide by the same rules or chaos will reign on this site. Please go through the proper channels to get your loved ones transferred to yourself to administer. I have found people on here are more than willing to transfer pages when you explain your relationships.

Thank you Jacq.

Hi Jacq
I appreciate all that you and other volunteers do to help at Find A Grave and I know you want to memorialize your ancestors just as we do. Could I just ask you one favor? Could you please not put up your memorial on another person's Find A Grave Memorial? Unless you are related to that person, it just distracts those of us who are related to them. We look at what you have up thinking it's someone who is related and you don't appear to be related, so why put up your memorial on our relatives sites?
It's fine if you want credit for what you do but adding your own relatives names, etc is just beyond what I would like to see on Charles Carl Schumacher's Find A Grave site. If you would be kind enough to take down your memorial I would appreciate it and thanks again for your volunteer work for Find A Grave.

Arthur Nelson Kent
Hi Jackie, I was wondering how you were related to Arthur Kent, one of his wives was my great-grandmother Minnie (Slocum-Elliott-Bowen) Kent. And to add to your list of step-children of his, is my grandmother Laura P. (Elliott-Nolan) Collins (Find A Grave Memorial# 42482701)
There was a fourth Elliott child, Mildred M. (abt 1905), but I cannot seem to find anything on her other than her name in grandma's papers.

Dents
Hi Jackie, THANKS SO MUCH for transferring all the Dents! There are a million details to add, and I'm finding that I need to do some more research for some of them, but I'll keep adding info as I can get to it. Check back sometime and see what's new! Good luck with all your wedding plans, and have a wonderful summer! :>) Julie

Dents in Fairplains
Jackie, I'm sure you're busy with your upcoming wedding plans, and I'm trying to be patient. But I don't understand why you're not responding to my messages and emails about the Dents. They are my great-grandmother's brothers and sisters, and they were all very close, so I want to honor their memories for her. I will send you SAC's from their individual memorials, and I ask you once again, PLEASE, to either tell me you'll make additions or transfer them to me so I can do it! Thank you, Julie
