RE: Hello
Yes. My husband Ken is working on "Find a Grave" and uses cyber sexton. Phyllis White Allgood is a daughter of Rex White, brother- in-law of Ruby Dell Townley White. I sent her a message on Facebook and asked her who was the mother of William D. White. I do not have her e-mail address. Will let you know what I find out.

RE: Ruby Dell White!
I will try to find out. You are doing a wonderful job. I have been helped by your work many times!!! Ruby Dell was a Townley as was my mother (Annie Lou Townley married Charles Hudson, my dad). I am also kin to the Ellingtons as my grandmother was Mattie Kathleen Ellington Hudson. Linda H. Cherry

Dora Virginia "Ginny" Thompson
Sorry, someone misunderstood my information about Dora "Ginny" Thompson's mother. As a result, Dora's burial place was changed to Barrett-Hanson Cemetery. This is wrong. I was giving info about Lina Carter (Malina Bird Carter.)Almand Funeral Home in Monroe, GA gave information about Lina Carter's place of burial which is Barrett Family Cemetery at Jersey, Walton County, GA. I don't know if this is the same cemetery as Barrett-Hanson Cemetery. I was hoping someone would know or be willing to look for this cemetery. I cannot find anything about it. Sorry about the confusion. Please change Dora Thompson's place of burial back to Walnut Grove UMC Cemetery.
Thanks, Gail Hammock

mother of Dora"Ginny" Thompson
I have found death certificate for Lina Carter. She is Malina Bird, daughter of Eliza Jane Hart and William Bird. The burial place was unclear on certificate. So, my cousin went to Almand Funeral Home in Monroe, GA to find out where. Lina Carter is buried at Barrett Family Cemetery in Jersey (Walton County) GA. Her death date is June 30, 1930. I was hoping someone could go to Jersey and try to find this grave.
Thanks, Gail Hammock

Hi George, you are welcome for the information. I'm creating a virtual cemetery for all the CSA Soldiers in Newton County - quite a project and I came across this one. Also FYI, we're planning a ceremony for the installation of a marker for Seaborn Jordan, at the Byrd Cemetery, sometime in October. Will let you know details later. Joyce

Duke,

My pleasure to take the pictures for you although I must admit that I was saddened to see the grave looking so unloved. We have had a really nasty winter here so that explains why no grass has grown yet, however, I have no explanation on why the headstone has not been updated. Maybe that also is due to the weather? I will keep an eye on the grave for you as I am there often for the Find A Grave network.

I hope that spring is coming into your neighborhood and that you and yours have a wonderful Easter season.

Blessings,
Vicki

Hello! Please resend me the SAC transfer requests, if you would. My computer is acting a little wonky, and it's easier for me to do the transfers through the SAC.

Thanks!

Click on the EDIT button of that memorial. Go all the way down to the bottom of the page. You will see "Fame" click on the "Yes" button for famous and hit save. The staff will review it and you will get an email if it was approved or not.

You requested a photo of John Malcom grave. When I looked on here, there is already one in the records, but looks like it is not attached to his name. That needs to be updated. Thanks.

RE: Dorothy Whaley
Hello! I'm not sure if I responded to your post or not. If you're familiar with Lawnwood, you know where the mausoleum is. :) As soon as you step through the doors, turn to your immediate left. You'll see the little niche areas for those who were cremated. Ms. Whaley is in that area. Those niches frame the doors. If you're inside the mausoleum looking out, she's on the right-hand side.

Hello! I went out to take the photo, and was told that she is interred in the mausoleum. They said that there was a nameplate there, but there wasn't, so a lady from the office came out and said that she is in the space with Danny Fincher. I can go back at a later date and see if the family has attached the nameplate, but this is where the office says she is. If I can do anything else, please let me know.

RE: Merry Christmas!
Thanks George. Next year we are planning special services for the 6 confederate soldiers buried at the Byrd Cemetery and we are getting a marker for Seaborn Jordan, wife of Mary Elenor Giles Jordan, who daughter Amanda Jordan married John Bird. So when the time gets near, I'll let you know. Probably in October when it is cooler.
