CAMBRIDGE - Louise Rosalee Jackson Stanley, 89, passed away on Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at her home.

Born Sept. 12, 1915 in Bucktown, she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Maggie Cornish Jackson.

Mrs. Stanley was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. On Dec. 28, 1932, she was joined in holy matrimony to Leon H. Stanley. Mr. Stanley preceded her in death.

At an early age, she joined Bazzel ME Church where she was a trustee. Later, she joined Christ UM Church where she sang in the choir, was President of the choir, lay speaker and a communion steward.
Mrs. Stanley was employed by several food processing factories and sewing factories in the area. Her favorite activities were attending church, writing poetry, cooking, watching TV, listening to the radio, attending local senior centers and talking on the telephone.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by seven children: Norman Stanley (Maxine) of Cambridge, Randolph Stanley (Nona) of Woolford, Elaine Ross (Eddie) of Baltimore, Alice Hopkins of Cambridge, Louise Washington of Security, Colo., Sylvia Harris of Baltimore and Henry Stanley (Patricia) of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Wilbur Jackson and Fonda Jackson (Rebecca), both of Cambridge; two sisters, Ada Woolford and Rhoda Jones, both of Cambridge; Karen Hopkins (a grandchild she raised); numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, an uncle, the Rev. Edward Jackson and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by two brothers, James Eldridge Jackson, Wallace Jackson and a sister, Eleanor Jackson Adams.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at Christ UM Church with Min. Adrian Newton, officiating. Burial will follow in Bucktown Cemetery.
