You are welcome, I went back & looked, was gonna transfer it, but you were the one that had put it in. Your great-grand mother, grandmother, great aunt were all very pretty ladies

Sure - I'm a believer in keeping older memorials. Do you want me to wait until you've figured out which cemetery? Just let me know when you want me to delete mine.

Thanks

Transfer of Memorial
Beth: I'm Rev David E Craig,#48250844 the pastor of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. We own and operate the James City Chapel Cemetery in Norge, VA. You have a memorial for Gustavus A. Goddin #116809226. As a contributor I'm in the process of updating all the memorial to include Section and Plot locations, and cross linking to family members.

Please transfer this memorial in order for us to keep it updated. Thank you for your help.

Blessings,

RE: Emma Carters.
Easy to miss as they had the same name, close to same age, lived in same area and were married to the same man. I enjoy this research, it is like putting a puzzle together. My suggestions for changes are only made when I see evidence of a different way to see a fact. Thanks for your response. On with the Seay's.

William O Seay's wives
William O Seay #124420949 married 2 Emma Carters
1- m. 12/6/1881 in Amelia Co., VA to Emma E. Carter born 1861 Amelia- her parents were Thomas P. Carter and Louise. The children from this marriage were Cornelia b. 1886 and Willie Page born 1892. Then William O. Seay a widow married a 2nd time.
2- m. 1/11/1894 in Amelia Co., VA to Emma Carter born 1864 in Amelia - her parents were Hiram D. Carter and Martha. The child from this marriage was Joseph Brackett Seay born 1896.
I think Thomas and Hiram were brothers of your direct ancestor. So Emma Carter 1864 - 1911 #106441133 is not the daughter of Thomas and Louisa and is not Willie Page Seay s #28802312 mother. I do not see Emma E Carter Seay (1861 - bef 1894) listed on Find A Grave.
Hope this is helpful. I am working on the Seay family's story.

Patricia Dunford
C H A Clay
This is likely to be Charles Henry Apperson Clay, b 16 Jul 1819 to Phinehas (of Chesterfield county) and Frances Williamson Turpin, married Mary E M Wilkinson, 3 Feb 1847.

In 1850, he and Mary are living with George W Turpin and his wife Melinda (probably his uncle?).

I can't find them between then and 1880.

Happen to be studying this family right now. Distant relatives.

RE: William Archer
Thanks for the information, Beth. My husband, Benjamin Bridgforth Prewitt, son of Mary Page Archer (1908-1961) and Allen Prewitt Sr. His mother's, Page's, father is William Carthon Archer, known to his grandchildren as "Pap". Carthon's father is William Camillis Archer, who is the son of William Archer and Page Patrick Hatcher. In short, William is Ben's great-great grandfather.

When I couldn't find any credible/sourced information about William's father on any of the web sites I use, I ordered 2 LDS microfilms. The first produced a marriage record for William and Page. The only parent listed, though, was Page's mother, Susanna Hatcher who I believe was widowed at the time (June 5, 1822) and a witness, Miles Archer. I would attach it to this email, but I don't see an option for attachments. May I email you directly? Also, if you have copies of any of the documentation connection John Archer and son, William, would you be willing to share it? Or, do you have it posted online somewhere? Thanks, Gail Prewitt (prewitt.mac@gmail.com)
