One more thing about Uzal - you have misspelled "Newburgh" on his memorial page. It needs the "h" on the end.

All the best!

Fox Conner
Robert H Conner
I am the great great grandson of Robert H Conner. From what I've heard from my father and other family members was that Robert H Conner was not blinded in Shiloh. Just wounded. He was blinded later and we believe it was in Atlanta. Would love to hear if you have some proof of him being blinded in Shiloh.

Laura Benet
I had read an interesting article on Laura Benet and decided to look on find a grave for more information. I thought that you might want to mention that Ms. Benet was the older sister to the notable author, Stephen Vincent Benet as well as William Rose Benet. The following link is to a short biography prepared by Lindsay Stayer that includes 2 of Ms. Benet's poems.
My interest in Ms. Benet actually started when I read an old Readers Digest (January 1991) human interest story on her called "People Will Surprise You" that was condensed from GUIDEPOSTS and writen by Sharon Linnea. She sounded like a very fascinating lady. Thanks for your time. Deanann

I got the pictures you requested for the Werners in L.I.N.C. Both Charles & Arthur Henry are buried with their wives. Both of their wives are Margaret E. (Charles' wife died in 1980, Arthur's in 1977.) I've added pictures to both existing memorials.
Have a good one...

Albert Gambone

It looks like someone posted Albert's memorial after you did. They have the cemetery listed. I did the memorial for Albert's son and DIL. They were killed in a SwissAir plane crash. I linked to your memorial b/c you posted first.

Kay Larson
RE: Etheridge pension bill
Dear Bernadette,

No thank you. My colleague Dick Hall (author, Women on the CW Battlefront) and I are thrilled that you found her grave. He's in the DC area so will make a trip soon.

Any chance you want to help search for the "wildest woman of the CW" as I call her: Loreta Janeta Velazquez, aka, Lt. Harry Buford, CSA. Dick tracked her to Latin America after the war (lots of Confederate emigres) then out West, but no one knows about the end of her life.

A documentary on her is being finished for PBS. So finding her grave would be a big break through.

Hi Bernadette,

Let me apologize if I did anything wrong here. I am still new to Find-A-Grave and still feeling my way around here. I sure don't want to step on anyone's toes here. Maybe you could explain how the claim thing works; I will be happy to play by the rules.

Sorry !
