June Storey
Melissa -

Thanks for the June Storey bio. I got a little more curious and found some additional information. Her uncle was Winfield Richardus Sheehan (24 Sep 1881 - 25 Jul 1945). The birth dates are according to:

The Wikipedia article for William Sheehan and information at says born 1883 but I believe 24 Sep 1881 is the correct date.

Also, June Storey is found as a freshman at Tustin Union High School in their 1933 Audion yearbook:

That would be actual page 13 of the yearbook. Pretty difficult to see her there as it is a group picture of the entire freshman class. She is listed as class secretary. Could be that she is also on some other pages. There is a Maxine Storey on actual page 29 of the yearbook, second from left in third row from top. I believe that is June Storey's sister. Can't find Maxine in a class photo but there is a Maxine Hazen in the senior class on actual page 54 of the yearbook. Looks like it could it be the same girl, nee Storey?

Tustin Union High School served Laguna Beach until 1934 when the Laguna Beach High School opened. So, in 1834 June Storey was likely at Laguna Beach High school as suggested in the Wikipedia article for June Storey but I do not find a yearbook for that school at

I believe June Storey's parents were possibly Loretta and William Storey:

Not sure that I have the correct June Storey there as it shows her being born in New York but sometimes incorrect information is given in census reports. Notice the spelling "William Story", "Loreta Story", M June Story", and "Ma?Ine Story" or "Ma?lne Story". This family is shown as being in Laguna Beach, California so it does fit. And, notice the immigration year is given as 1914. The spelling is correct here:

According to the article at Wikipedia June Storey's full name was "Mary June Storey":

- Kent

Melissa. Check out another distinguished memorial at Forest Lawn that has been left incomplete. A crying shame.

RE: Corporal Daniel Powell
It was my pleasure to take of photos of Corporal Daniel Powell's grave marker. It was my priority to get those photos taken. He gave his life for his country at the young age of 19. When I look at the photos, I think about the rest of his life that he never got to live.

John McKitrick
You're welcome! I try and do my graving in the mornings now, it's just no fun as it gets later in the day and hotter. At least there are a lot of trees at Forest Lawn and some of the spots catch a really nice breeze if you happen to sit down for a bit to catch your breath.

John McKitrick
Hi Melissa, I just posted a marker picture to John's memorial (Forest Lawn Glendale). Just FYI, there is a Ruth McKitrick buried next to him (1881-1925), I just created a memorial for her and added a photo to that one as well.

RE: The Nussbaums
Melissa, I am absolutely thrilled to get your message. Thank you so much for your kind words about my efforts here. My lament is that I think I have an assortment of interesting people-but they will never or rarely get seen since Find a Grave finds almost everybody to be 'non famous'. You have to be a mass murderer. I am so glad you like my memorials and if you would be so thoughtful as to leave a 'flower' for everyone you visit, it would make me so happy. Jim Lacy is a friend of mine and he says he knows you.

Edward Chandler memorial # 29321910
Hello! I was hoping you could shed some light on more sources of early bio info on Eddy Chandler. My hometown is Wilton Junction, IA. Some folks down there are trying to find out if he finished high school there or elsewhere, where he may have lived, etc. I shared your lovely memorial with them, and we all very much appreciate the thoughtful work you've done! If you have any ideas as to where they could search, I know they would be most grateful. Thank you!

RE: Rosina Ruebhausen
You are very welcome. I am glad to help.
I have to tell you however, Do not be upset or disapointed with your family for not marking the graves. Unless you know for sure there was never a marker. FOR SURE. The squirrells in this cemetery are plenty and they work over time at digging. I have found stones half buried. the other day a burial in 2007 was half buried as if the other half was not even there. Grass and all. It would not be out of the question for a 1902 stone or stones to be burried one inch below the grass. One of the care takers told me that when I first started searching. If I can clear them with my hands I will. I will not use tools because I do not want to damage anything. This was one of the reasons we put an upright stone for my Mom, 1984. My Dad had a big problem with rodents the first two or three years. He tormented the site and the office enough that the digging moved to quieter ground.
Also in many many of my searches with children there is no marker. The money just was not there in those days, some families buried a child every year or two. One will have a stone. one will not. Or they are memorialized on their parents stone, where ever Mom Or Dad are buried.
If they never had a stone, families collect and rededicate the site also. I see that alot. A brand new marker for a 100 year old site. All I would suggest there is get the spouse that is burried right next to your rededication rather or not they are your direct connections. That has happened at least twice in my searching. The spouse can not have a photo on their page, because they were not in the family that rededicated the grave direct line and have no mention on the new stone. Very sad and disappointing there.
Any way. More information then you wanted to know. YOU ARE VERY WELCOME. I AM REALLY GLAD I COULD HELP.
