Information regarding your ancestor was posted on the Civil War Talk discussion forum at

I made a comment regarding his service records. USCT officers are included on the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington DC. You are considered a USCT descendant.

Hi Robin! I am, indeed.. Amanda was my great grandfather's (Ralph Mitchell) first cousin. Her brother, George, was a favorite hunting and poker buddy. Amanda's mother, Susan,.. was half sister to Ralph's mother.. Isadora Hill Mitchell. Their father was William Hill (1819 - 1876). Susan's mother was Laura Nutt Hill.. while Isadora's mother was Elizabeth Thurman. Would LOVE any family photos you could share of those particular clans. Very highest regards! - Tony L.

Mathews family inquiry..
Hi Robin - Do you have any photos of Vernon or his parents Schelle and Amanda? Also, where does the name Monroe come from? The old family tree had "Marshall". Thank you and very highest regards! -Tony
