Hi,
My Luther's actually came from North Carolina, Arkansas, and Indiana, and Missouri. My 6th Great Grandfather John George Luther was the first relative in my family to settle in America in 1759.

RE: Alexander Rice
Thank you for your message. About one year ago I documented the Whitaker grave at Bonanza in Floyd County. Caleb and Zella are buried in front of Caleb's parents, James and Rebecca Whitaker. I remember my grandmother telling me stories of Zella and Caleb. Zella passed away in July of 1924 from Nephritis, and Caleb never really recovered. He was kicked to death by his horse in December of the same year, leaving their children as orphans. His sister Clarinda raised the children and never married so she could care for them at the homestead. I also remember grandma telling me of a picture of their daughter Ethel, and her saying that she, "looked just like a movie star, and was the prettiest of all Zella's children."

I'm going to add my photographs for the Whitaker family cemetery soon, so you'll be able to find their graves.

Alexander Rice
I came across your picture of Alexander Rice, who married Margaret Pace. Their daughter Zella married my great great uncle, Caleb Whitaker. Zella passed away fairly young, and Caleb was killed in a horse riding accident only a few months later. Caleb's sister, Clarinda raised his children following his death. Thank you for putting up the picture, and if you like, I'll send you a picture of Caleb and Zella's monument at Bonanza, Ky.

You are welcome
It is difficult to lose someone you love anytime. But when your world quits moving around the holidays, it somehow seems even worse. Have a very Blessed Christmas.
