Find a Grave ID

Bio

UPDATE DECEMBER 26, 2023:: Unfortunately I am unable to continue management of my find a grave memorials. Health issues over the past 4 or 5 years made it difficult if not impossible to walk the cemetery in Bay Port to get photos and about 3 years ago i relocated to Louisana so no longer living in Michigan. I have just this month transferred my memorials to a cousin of mne. Her name is Teri. Her ID number is 51305989. It has been a pleasure working with you all. I found working with find a grave rewarding when I was able to open new memorials and share information on the deceased person and to fulfil any photo requests. It is nice when you live out of state to be able to get a picture of a relative or friends gravesight I have requested a few myself for out of state relatiives. Sorry about any future photo requests. UPDATE OCT 21 2013 PLEASE USE MY GMAIL ADDRESS [email protected]. Yahoo has many problems lately. I Live in Bay Port, Michigan. I am partially retired and substitute teach, K-12 in the winter months.
For more than 10 years my sister and I have done a lot of family research on the Harder and Naffien families in Michigans thumb and have enjoyed it a lot. We joined ancestry for a couple years and managed to get a lot of census papers. Most of our relatives settled here in Ora Labora (Old Bay Port) in the 1860s.(from Elgin county Canada) Ora Labora (meaning work and pray_, was an old German methodist settlement. Old bay port has quite a history and an old cemetary in which many of my realatives are buried. Ora Labora burnt down in the great fire of 1881 and new Bay Port was built. Bay Port is located on the east side of the Saginaw Bay, in the thumb of Michigan. They had a Grand Hotel at one time and was the greatest tourist attraction at the time. Bay Port was once known as the worlds largest fresh water fishing port. We have been to most of the local cemeteries and taken our own pictures.
If someone is family related to you, but not a close relative in my family, and you would like to manage thier memorial Please "USE EDIT BUTTON to request a transfer or correction. My family consists mostly of Harder, Naffien, and a few Smiiths, Bocks, Hayes, Birkenbachs, Horton, Brown. But if you know more about the family than I do, I am willing to transfer.
