Bio

I am a descendant of Germans-from-Russia, as well as immigrants from Holland and from Posen, Prussia [now Poznan, Poland]. The following was written 8Jun2010 and tweaked a couple times since then, most recently 3July2010.

Links have been lost with some collateral ancestors. I have been organizing family reunions to bring together far-flung & sometimes unknown cousins of various degrees. I am looking for:
1. descendants of Izaak Suwyn [Suwijn] and Elisabeth nee Puttler Suwyn, and of their daughters Jeanette or Jean Suwyn [m. Clifton Friesner] and Elinor Suwyn [who had at least one child--a dau; Elinor's married name unknown, if any]. Izaak was the brother of Pieter Suwyn of Holland and later of Marathon County, Wisconsin; possibly of Sarah nee Suwijn VanHee of Holland and later of upstate New York; of several siblings who stayed in Holland or predeceased him; and of Abraham Suwyn of Holland and later of Milwaukee--my Great-Grandfather. I am also looking for Sara's descendants.
2. descendants of, or persons related to, Mary Elisabeth Dross, mother of Catherine Elisabeth nee Hirsch Bohl of Russia, later of Nebraska, and finally of Wisconsin. Especially interested in finding Catherine's SISTER [maiden name Hirsch], who reportedly also came to the US from Russia, according to a recently-found Hirsch cousin in Germany who recently emigrated from Russia. Also any other related Drosses.
3. descendants of "Mrs Miller," possibly married to a Friedrich/Frederick] Miller; they were possibly of Canada's prairie provinces, of North Dakota, and/or of Wisconsin. Mr & Mrs Miller also were possibly parents or other relatives of Syd Miller and wife of Sun City, AZ, in the late 20th century, and were probably closely-related to Catherine Elisabeth nee Hirsch Bohl of Russia, later of Nebraska, and finally of Wisconsin. "Mrs Miller" might have been an aunt of Catherine Hirsch Bohl, and so her maiden name might have been Dross. [I have access to 1930s/1940s snapshots of "Mrs Miller."]
4. descendants of Philipp Hein, b. 1866, of Russia, later of Sutton, Clay County, Nebraska. Mr. Hein is listed by my Grandparents on their Ship's Passenger List as "Uncle" and as their destination in the United States. I believe Mr. Hein was my Grandfather's Uncle, as I believe my Grandfather's mother's maiden name was "Hein."
