Paul Maurice, 72, Annabella, Utah, died on Saturday May 7, 1978 in a Richfield hospital.
He was born on August 7, 1905 in Annabella, Utah to William Spafford and Lillian Pearl Gauchet Daniels. He married Fauntell Thurston on May 21, 1930 in the Manti LDS Temple.
He was a farmer and rancher. He served in the Annabella Ward as superintendent, counselor and teacher in the Sunday School; superintendent, secretary and teacher in the MIA; assistant Scoutmaster; member of the Old Folks committee for many years, president ot the geneology committee and bishop for six years.
He served in the Monroe Stake as a high councilman, member of the geneology committee, secretary of the MIA and Manti LDS Temple ordinance worker for four years.
He served in Annabella, Utah as the town president and councilman. He supervised the building of the shelter on the park and the park tables and benches. He served as president of the Cottonwood Irrigation Co.
Survivors: wife, sons, daughters: Mrs. Ivan (Pearl Dawn) Cowley, Venice, Utah; Paul, Cedar City, Utah; Mrs. DeMar (Anna Lou) Hughes, Mesquite, Nevada; Jim Rex, Atlanta, Georgia; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Tuttle Danels, Richfield, Utah; four brothers, five sisters: William Bliss Daniels, Mrs. Reed (Joan) Rasmussen, Mrs. Virge (Lillian) Brown, Mrs. Kent (Madaline) Carr, all of Annabella, Utah; Robert S., Mrs. Leo (Verla) Brienholt, Richfield, Utah; Joe A., Roy Dean, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Conrad (DeLynn) Hansen, Central (now Central Valley), Utah.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday May 10, 1978 in the Annabella LDS Ward. Burial was in the Annabella Cemetery under the directrion by Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. (bio by: Marsha Thurston)
