Alva J. Blunk, age 85, who lived on State Road 144 at Mooresville, died at his home Sunday after a year's illness.
A native of Hendricks County, he spent his life there and in Morgan County. He was born June 19, 1877, the son of Dave E and Lena Linna Kirkham Blunk, and was married May 25, 1898, to Emma Thacker. He belonged to the Mooresville Christian Church and was a retired building contractor.
He leaves his wife; four daughters and a son, Mrs Rebecca Denny, Mrs. Jewel Doyle, Mrs Thelma Dolson, Mrs. Alma Stratton and Eugene Blunk, all of Mooresville; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Emmalina Hilock, Indianapolis; Mrs. Hutha McClelland, Clayton; Mrs. Dora Curtis, Bargersville, and David Blunk, Martinsville.
His services will be in the Harvey Funeral Home at Mooresville at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted the Rev. Willard Whitlock, assisted by the Rev. Harry Spear. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
