OBITUARY
The Monthly Gospel Visiter June 1854 Page 24
Died – of consumption, a her residence near Gambier, Knox county Ohio , March the 20th 1854 , Sister SUSAN BOSTETTER in the 62d year of her age. She has been a consistent member of the German Baptist Denomination for the last 37 year, and live a pious and devoted life.
In her death the church has lost a worthy and devoted member, her husband a loving and kind companion, and her children, (8 in number) a tender and affectionate mother. But their loss is her eternal gain.
The funeral discourse was preached by A. Leedy from 2 Tim. iv. 7. 8. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, &c." her remains were taken, followed by weeping friends, and land away in the cold and dreary tomb. There to await the clangor of Gabriel's trump; then to come forth, clothed in celestial and eternal beauty and loveliness, to dwell forever in God's right hand.
Brethren, may you and I by the assisting grace of God, so act and live here, that in the morning of eternity we may meet her with the blood-washed throng in that happy clime, where
Sickness and sorrow, pain and death,
Are felt and fear's no more.
