John W. Harpe, husband of the former Mary Ekart of New Middletown, died at 1:10 a. m. Saturday at St. Joseph in firmary, Louisville. He was 56 years of age and lived on State Road 111, New Albany.
Mr., Harpe was a maintenance man for the Froehide Mobile Home Co., Louisville and a was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Hobart Beach Post VFW and the Manzanita Tribe of the Improved Order of Redmen.
Other survivors include a son, Michael Harpe, Floyds Knobs, four daughters. Mrs. Carl Liebert, Floyd Knob, Mrs Donaid Dehi, Clarksville, Mrs. David Brooks, Michigan and Mrs. Nicholas Sieveking., Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Wayne Harpe, New Albany, James A. Harpe, Jefferson, and Paul Harpe, Milltown, two sisters, Mrs. Mae Broyles, Jeffersonville and Mrs. Hazel Stroud, New Albany.
Memorial services by the Manzanita Tribe of the Improved Order of Redmen were held at Kraft Funeral Home at 7:30 p. m. Sunday. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the funeral home. Burial was in Graceland Memorial Park.
