W.H. Starry, living ten miles west of Britton, died Saturday, Oct. 28, of heart failure after several years of sickness. Mr. Starry has lived in that vicinity for eleven years and has a host of friends and neighbors, besides the wife and a large family of children to mourn his loss. He was aged 69 years 7 months and 25 days. Mr. Starry leaves a family of thirteen children, all of which are almost grown. The remains were laid to rest in Oline(Olive?) Hill cemetery Monday, and a large crowd was present to pay their last respects to the one so dear to them.

11-9-1911 OBITUARY
William H. Starry was born in Jones county, Iowa on March 3rd, 1842, and died on Oct. 28, 1911, his age being 69 years, 8 months and 25 days.
He joined the Freewill Baptist church in 1889 at Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and afterwards joined the Missionary Baptist church of Piedmont, Okla.
He joined the Union army and served four years and three months. At the close of the war he returned to his home in Iowa.
On Sept. 26th, 1875, he was united in marriage to Miss Addie St. John. 14 children were born to his union, 13 of whom are living. All live in Oklahoma except Frank and Traverse, who live in Iowa, and Will and Charles who live in South Dakota.
Mr. Starry and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1900.
His death was the result of a complication of diseases, but the immediate cause of his death was heart failure. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.S. Bell, pastor of the Yukon Baptist church.

Civil War veteran with the 9th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company B. Rank upon discharge was Seventh Sergeant.
