Burnis Barrow, 80, of Ruidoso, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Ruidoso Care Center.
He ws Born on Dec. 3, 1920 in Maud, Okla. to Ralph and Stella Hodges Barrow.
He moved to Ranchvale in 1929 and graduated from Ranchvale High School in 1937. he also attended Eastern New Mexico Univeristy in Portales and New Mexico State University in Las Curces. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and the Korean conflict. He wirjed as a brakeman and conductor for the Santa Fe Railorad and retired in 1987 after 46 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father and was a faithful member of the Ranchvale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hanhouse Barrow, his parents, Ralph and Stella Barrow, one sister, Marie Foulks; and two brothers, John Barrow and Leo Barrow.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Barrow of Clovis, Dan R. Barrow of Albuquerque and Glen Barrow of Ruidoso; one brother, Ben Barrow of Clovis; two sisters, Janie Kirkpatrick of Wimberly, Texas and Nina Barrow of Clovis; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Steed-Todd Chapel. Dr. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate.
Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens of Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
