MAX WILLIAM BUNDY, age 90, of Savanna, died Friday, July 15, 2005 in Freeport Memorial Hospital, Freeport. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2005 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God in Mt. Carroll, Pastor George Reser officiated. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends were asked to call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the Mt. Max was born September 25, 1914 in Savanna, the son of Roy and Amanda (McGinnis) Bundy. He graduated from the Savanna High School, Class of 1934. On August 2, 1943 Max married Mildred Kuchemann in Amityville, New York. Max served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II; while stationed in England he attended classes at Oxford University. He worked at the Savanna Army Depot as an Area Supervisor and an Ammunitions Instructor at the Depot Ammunitions School. He retired in 1975 after thirty years. Max also was a former Volunteer Fireman for the Hanover Fire Department. Max enjoyed hunting and collecting Native American arrowheads, fishing, hunting, model trains, hunting Morel mushrooms, gardening, and he was an avid Civil War History buff, reading every book he could.
