Anton J. Demmers, 81, former Aberdonian, died Sunday, May 4, at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. He had resided in West St. Paul the past 20 years.

Services will be Wednesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at the Huebl Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Flagstad officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Tuesday and continue until the time of service Wednesday. Relatives will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family prefers memorials to the Heart Fund.

Mr. Demmers was born May 25, 1893, in Heerenveeren, Holland. His early years were spent in that country. He came to America with his parents in 1910, and the family settled in Aberdeen.

For 49 years Mr. Demmers was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad, working in Aberdeen, Rapid City and St. Paul. Mr. Demmers was a railroad foreman when he retired in 1958.

Survivors include his widow, Mattie; two sons, Richard, Grand Forks, N.D.; and Leonard, Freehold, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Elizabeth) Kukal, Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Henry, Norristown, Pa.; William, Brainerd, Minn.; and Joe E., Watertown; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Demmers was preceded in death by his first wife.

Services for Anton J. (Tony) Demmers, 81, of West St. Paul, Minn., were held Wednesday at the Huebl Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Flagstad officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

He died Sunday, May 4 at St. Paul.

Pallbearers were Siger Bies, Robert Japs, Norman Ristau, Preston Picht, Larry Picht and David Espenson.

Robert E. Olson was soloist and Jude Borgesen was the organist.
