Emma Meckes and Theodore Meral Starner (son of Johnson Starner and Luella Hinds) were married 24 Dec 1898 by Justice of the Peace, Robert Gruver (Monroe County Marriage License #1485). In 1918 she was living in Carbondale, PA on Second Street. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Jermyn.

4. Winifred Starner b. abt 1905

Emma was initially buried at Jermyn Cemetery near Scranton by
undertaker, A. F. Battenberg, of Jermyn, PA. Her remains were re-interred in Valley View Cemetery at Montdale, PA. (Obit in "Scranton Republican", Monday, 14 October 1918, p. 14 and Death certificate #124417-PA)
