Partial Obit: Bonnie was born on October 4, 1906 at the family homestead near Tygh Valley, Oregon, the daughter of Howard and Martha (Cathcart) Faith. When she was just a young girl, the family moved to Nebraska and in 1919 to Wyoming. Bonnie attended schools in Sydney, Nebraska, Lusk and Lingle; and received an Eighth grade diploma from Harmony Heights School south of Ft. Laramie. When she was still a young girl, Bonnie would haul water to her dad's thrashing machine when he harvested crops from Ft. Laramie to Slater Flats. After two previous marriages, Bonnie met and married Henry Butler in May of 1935. The couple moved to 6 Mile Creek southwest of Ft. Laramie where they farmed and ranched and raised their six sons. Bonnie was also employed as a cook at the Ft. Laramie School from 1954 to 1969. She continued ranching, however, well into the 1980's and she lived on her own until she was 98 years old, at which time she moved in with her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Butler.
Bonnie enjoyed reading and crocheting. She liked working in her yard and collecting different items from her travels; such as State plates from all 50 states in addition to Mexico and Canada. Bonnie was instrumental in getting a nearby Butte officially named as Mummy Mountain by the Department of Interior's Geological Division in 1988; just in time for Wyoming's Centennial celebration.
