He was a retired Army colonel. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, DeLand. He was a veteran of World Wars I, II, and the Korean War; member of the Volusia County Retired Officer's Club; VFW Post 2380, DeLand; DAV Association of Volusia County; American Legion Post 127, Lake Helen; Sons of the American Revolution, DeLand; Patriotic Education Inc., DeLand; and the DeLand Kiwanis Club.
Survivors: wife, Gladys; son, Robert R., DeLand; brother, Lynn, Menagha, Minn.; sister, Mrs. Clarence Armgost, David City, Neb.; six grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, DeLand.
