He was a veteran of World Wars I, II, and the Korean War; member of the Volusia County Retired Officer's Club; VFW Post 2380, DeLand; DAV Association of Volusia County; American Legion Post 127, Lake Helen; Sons of the American Revolution, DeLand; Patriotic Education Inc., DeLand; and the DeLand Kiwanis Club.
