Mrs. Margaret June Eddy, 90, of Bartlesville, died at 6:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eddy will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Town & Country Christian Church with Pastor Lanny Smith officiating and assisted by Milton Fielder. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Margaret June (Howell) Eddy was born May 29, 1923 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Her parents were James B. Howell and Alta G. (Pearson) Howell. Her elementary school years were divided between schools at Ochelata, Oklahoma and a rural school in Mayes County graduating from the 8th grade as Valedictorian from the school in Albion, Oklahoma. Her Freshman year was in Van Buren, Arkansas, Sophomore Locust Grove. Okla.,Junior and Senior years and Junior College hours in Seminole, Oklahoma. In 1942 she moved to Bartlesville, Okla., where she was first employed at the S & H Kress store and then Phillips Petroleum Co.

On April 9, 1944 she married Staff Sgt. Mark G. Eddy to become an Army Air Force wife. After her husband’s Army career they resided in Seminole, Okla., for a short period then moved to Bartlesville the Spring of 1944. She became employed by First National Bank in Bartlesville in February 1949. She continued employed by the bank, which is now Arvest Bank until September 2007 when she retired at the age of 84.

Margaret accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of 12. She joined the First Christian Church, Dewey, Okla., in 1954 and she is a Charter Member of Town & Country Christian Church in Bartlesville, Okla. She has spent most of the years as an Assistant Sunday School teacher or as a teacher of adults. She was the teacher of the Lamplighters Senior Adult Class at Town & Country Christian Church until late 2013. She always loved a challenge to read, cook, embroider and to shop. She loved people and had been a volunteer at the Bartlesville History Museum and the Bartlesville Community Center.

She was a charter member of the Bartlesville chapter of the American Business Women and was also a member of Credit Professionals International. She always wished to be remembered for her love of God, her family, loved ones and others. She challenges all to love God first, family, then others.

Margaret is survived by a sister, Marilyn Ruth Jones and her husband Eddie of Bartlesville, a sister-in-law, Pat Fowler of Bartlesville, several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a loving step-father, , her husband of 51 plus years, her only child daughter, Marka Tucker and only grandchild, Mark Tucker, a brother, Robert Fowler and a step-sister, Helen Bruce.
