Mittelstaedt of Waupaca, found eternal peace on Saturday, September, 1, 2007 at the age of ninety. Paul was the sixth child of Paul and Wilhelmina Mittelstaedt. He was predeceased by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, his wife Christel, his mother-in-law, Louise Draheim, and his son-in-law Bill Conine.He and his late wife, Christel of fifty-six years owned restaurants in Manawa, Iola, and Scandinavia, a neighborhood grocery store and dairy bar in New London, and the landmark "Busy Bee" at the Chain o' Lakes where vacationers from many states enjoyed his delicious frozen custard. Paul is survived by his devoted daughter, Paulette Conine, a dear sister, Marguerite Gilbertson, a sister-in-law Helen Mittelstaedt, a step-grandson Bill Conine, Jr. (Pam) and family, and step-granddaughter Melanie Mirkes, and very special buddy Ryley Hofferber. He is also fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday September 5, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 206 Badger Street, Waupaca for visitation from 5:00-7:00 pm and on Thursday September 6, 2007 from 10:00-11:00. The service will follow at 11:00 am. With Rev. Dr. Charles Tews officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to a Hospice Care Organization in the city of your choice
