PROSSER - Dorothy Leah (Baker) Freauff left her earthly home to go to the one prepared for her in heaven on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, while living with her daughter in Prosser. She was born July 14, 1914 in Rockwood, Oregon. Dorothy married Conrad Donald Freauff on Sept. 21, 1936 in Vancouver, WA. They made their home in the early years of marriage in Colorado, then moving to Sunnyside, WA where they resided for many years, farming and raising Angus cattle. In 1970, they moved to Yakima. After Conrad's death in 1985, she continued living there until May 2006 after which she moved to Prosser to live with her daughter.

Dorothy is survived by her son Richard (Dick) Freauff and (Milla) of Yakima; daughter Donna and (Chuck) Wiley of Prosser. Dorothy is also survived by two granddaughters, Teresa (Ed) Kratzer of Lafayette, OR and Tamera Wiley (Nathan) of Toppenish; a grandson Jake Freauff and (Nina) of Portland, OR. Dorothy had 8 great-grandchildren: Andy (Amy) Burnett, Jenni, Sarah, Kyle Kratzer of Lafayette, OR and Jessica, Danica, Heather, and Zachary Collins of Toppenish, WA.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bert and Dora Baker as well as her husband Conrad, and two brothers Ralph Baker and Harold Baker, and one sister, Marge Skogen.

Dorothy was always preoccupied with caring for others over the course of many years. She was always willing to minister to others in whatever way she could. For many years, she took car of her father-in-law and mother-in-law, while holding down a full-time job and raising a large garden. She ran the lunch counter at the Sunnyside Sales Yard, Mile High Cafe, Eastway Pharmacy and Walter's Drug Store. She spent a great deal of time caring for her husband during his terminal illness. Her wisdom and compassion was always admired and cherished by her family.

The family would like to thank the Tri-Cities Chaplain and Hospice for their assistance and home care for mom.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at West Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tri-Cities Hospice.
