Services for Lela Wiseman Chester, 86, of Sudan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Roecker officiating.
Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Sudan.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002.
She was born Jan. 16, 1916, in Childress and married Dorman Chester on Dec. 24, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. She moved to the Sudan area in 1924 from Vernon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sudan, where she had taught Sunday School for a number of years.
She was employed by the Sudan Livestock Company as a secretary and bookkeeper for 25 years. She retired in 1981. She was a worthy matron of the Sudan Eastern Star and a member of Sudan Senior Citizens.
A great-grandchild preceded her in death.
