B) June 1868 McMinnville, Oregon
D) 11 Oct 1916 Seattle, King, Washington

John Wesley Harris was born ( 1900 CENSUS says June) in Yamhill County in the
McMinnville Precinct to John E and Eliza (Smith) Harris. At the age of six the
family moved to Freebridge on the Deschutes River where they had a stock Ranch.
John was raised there in Wasco County with five brothers and five sisters; He
met Nellie Williams the daughter of William Henry Williams and Amanda (Abbott)
Williams, farmer from eight mile in Wasco County. They were married on Nellie's
father's ranch on September 11, 1892 Two children were born in Oregon before
John moved his family to Washington. He worked as a stockman to support the
family, something he was raised doing. They added two more children to the
family before his wife Nellie passed away in 1907 at Connell, Washington. The
youngest child Frances was just six months old and Nellie's brother Jay and wife
Eva take her in and raise her.
John was to remarry in 1909 to Mae Erwin. The two raise the other children, and
John is still working as a Stockman at a feed yard. John Passes away on Oct 11,
1916 in Seattle, Washington, he was just 48 years old. I have found no children
from the second marriage. None of his children have married and had children
yet. Besides his wife he would leave behind his sons; Willard Henry Harris and
Marrion "Bud" Harris and two daughters; Beatrice who would marry Larch Nelson
and Frances who marry Halbert Gerking. Mae was to marry again to Leon Willis
Lord. Her obit mentions the children and interment was made in the same cemetery
as her late husband John Harris.
