Mike Hugh Collie, Sr., 69, of Midwest City, OK, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 9, 2005. He was born in Frederick, OK to Pat and Marie Collie on Dec. 15, 1935. He moved to Midwest City in 1966. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1960. He owned a construction and roofing company up until his long battle with cancer. His hobbies were working with wood and building things, and he loved being outside and working in the yard. In the last few years he was drawn very close to his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his parents; his 5 sisters: Louise Lemmons, Dorothy Phillips, Patsy Sutton, Opal Gilbert, and Jeanie Walls; 4 brothers: Elsworth Collie, Troy Wayne Collie, Frank Collie, and Don Collie; and son, Lindel Mark Collie. He's survived by: wife, Willa Olevia Collie of MWC, OK; daughter Angela Slayton of MWC, OK; 2 sons: Mike Collie, Jr., and wife Kimberly of Norman, OK, and Joel Collie and wife Tammy of Bethel, OK, and 3 children: Arron Trammell, Stephany Trammell of Bethel, OK, and Crystal Collie of OKC, OK; 3 brothers: Pete Collie and wife Evelyn of Middletown, OH, Bobby Collie of McLoud, OK, and Jimmy Collie and wife Barbara of Malakoff, TX; sister, Peggy Self of Hugo, OK; and several nieces and nephews. He loved his family and was a very devoted father and grandfather, and we're going to miss him, but one day we will all be together again. Our family wants to give special thanks to the staff at Specialty Hospital in Midwest City for their kindness and compassion for the time he was there. Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church, with burial at Arlington Memory Gardens. Published in The Oklahoman on July 12, 2005
