John Hutchinson died at his residence in Whitewater township, this county (Franklin Co., Indiana) Nov 26, 1881, aged 69 years, 2 months, 14 days. Mr. Hutchinson was born near Pickering, England, September 12, 1812, and came to America with his father's family in the spring of 1831, landing at New York. From there he came to Cincinnati where he remained four years, and from thence moved to this county where he has ever since resided except four years at Lafayette. On the 20th of January, 1835 he married Elizabeth Hart, who with nine children mourn their loss. He was a brother of Matthew Hutchinson so long a resident of this place. The funeral services were held at Wesley Chapel, on Monday last, Rev. E.A.Campbell officiating clergyman.

John Hutchinson, son of Charles and Elizabeth Hutchinson, was born in
Yorkshire, England on a farm between the towns of Leeds and York. At
the age of 18 he came to America with his family. On January 20, 1834
he was married to Elizabeth Hart. To this union 10 children were born,
Clara Alice being the 10th. Mrs. Clara Alice Curry of Thorntown, Indiana handed me the following letter dated Sept. 12, 1937 - with biography of her Father John Hutchinson who was a brother of our grandfather Charles Hutchinson. Just 125 years ago today John Hutchinson son of Charles and Elizabeth Hutchinson was born in Yorkshire England on a farm between the towns of York and Leeds. At the age of 18 he came with his parents and brothers and sisters to America on Jan 20, 1834. He was married to Elizabeth Hart. To this union was born:

....Clara Alice Hutchinson Curry, she being the youngest and only surviving one. John Hutchinson died Nov 26, 1881 after a short illness of only 9 days of typhoyd (sic) fever.
