URBANA * Donald G. Quesenberry, 63, of Urbana, joined Jesus and his heavenly family surrounded by his loving family at 10:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 in his residence. He was born June 12, 1940 in Pulaski, the son of Roy and Marcella (Hanks) Quesenberry.
Don served as a Deacon of the Pentecostal Ministry. He also served his church as a teen youth leader, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. Don was loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved to talk about the Lord, cars, racing and his family. He gave of himself and his time so freely and made everyone feel loved and welcome. He was his family and friends greatest supporter and confidant and inspiration. His loving and gentle spirit was a gift to all who knew him and was reflected in everything that he did. Don will be sadly missed by his family to whom there could not have been a more devoted or more loving husband, father and grandfather(Poppy).
Don enjoyed participating in, watching and coaching all sports and was an avid drag racer. He loved to watch his boys and his grandchildren participate in athletics and was their biggest fan. He had resided in Springfield and Urbana for 55 years and was a Veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War. Don had been employed at Robins and Myers and was also a self employed electrician with D & M Electric.
Survivors include his wife Patti (Pryor) Quesenberry, his father Roy Quesenberry, Pulaski; four sons Donald (Mary) Quesenberry, St. Paris, Scott (Kim) Quesenberry, Springfield, Ronald (Melanie) Quesenberry and Patrick Quesenberry, Urbana; eight grandchildren, Elissa, Matt, Blake, Summer, Madison, Tori, Lilly and Bryce; two brother, Dennis and Sonny of Pulaski.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marcella Hanks Pallmer, sister Rose Marie Weiss and brother Billy Quesenberry.
Friends may call in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Dave Holbrook and Rev. Cecil McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
