Chester was in the Red Arrow branch 42nd squadron of the Rainbow Division deployed to the Phillipines on the Island of Luzon in WWII.
He lost his face due to a Jap landmine on March 5 1945.
He spent 9 years at Valley Forge and received multiple grafts, while there, to reconstruct a quasi face.
He periodically had to return to Valley Forge for touch up work to his face 1954-1964.
He married my mother, Eleanor Northup in 1952.
She is still living at age 95. Well & Healthy.
Chester's cause of death was Bone Cancer, but was caused from his initial Prostate Cancer in 1982.
I am his only child.
