A funeral for Donald William Edmundson will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Skyline Funeral Home's chapel. Mr. Edmundson died Thursday the home of a friend in Southeast Portland t attack. He was 86.
Mr. Edmundson was born Sept. 7, 1904, in Rosedale. He graduated from Salem High School, then attended North Pacific Evangelistic School, which later became Cascade College. He married Mary Armstrong in Salem in 1927. She died in 1988.
During World War II, Mr. Edmundson worked for the Vancouver Housing Authority.
In the 1940s, Mr. Edmundson established his own architectural firm in Portland, which he operated for 25 years. The firm's name later was changed to Edmundson-Kochendoerfer-Kennedy. Among the firm's projects were Wilson High School, Morgan's Alley and hospitals in The Dalles, Hood River and Pendleton.
Mr. Edmundson also worked as an architectural photographer. He was a lifetime member of the Friends Church and also held memberships in the Oregon Building Congress, Oregon Architect Institute of America and Toastmasters.
Mr. Edmundson is survived by his daughter, Lyn Olson of Portland; son, Richard D. of Camas, Wash.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family asks that memorial contributions be sent to the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends Missions, Newberg, Ore. 97132.
