William was a son of William Harvey Sr.(1744-1819)and Polly Jane Robinson Harvey(1749-1844). Senior had served in the Revolutionary War as a private soldier in Captain Garland Burnley`s Company of Guards under Colonel Francis Taylor`s Virginia Regiment.
Junior was born in Culpepper County, Virginia along with all his siblings.
He first married Elizabeth Cook(2/14/1774-10/08/1825)about 1792 in Kentucky. His second wife was Jane Givens Morin and it is believed they married in Howard County, Missouri after 1825. Morin was Jane`s first husbands last name.
One of William`s daughters by his first wife was Nancy Harvey(8/08/1798-2/28/1873). Nancy married Richard Washington Lee(9/15/1796-8/05/1882)born in Kentucky, on 1/08/1818 in Howard County, Missouri. Both of these families moved to Missouri from Madison, Co., Kentucky in 1817.
