Rachel L Whiteman was the daughter of Thomas Whiteman 1808 and Selina Bates.

Rachel married Willard M France, the son of Abram France and Maria, about 1879.

The couple lived in Seward, Schoharie, New York. They had four boys, Homer A 1880, Maynard T, 1881, Henry W 1882, and I. M. 1883. All of them died by 1883.

Willard died in 1907. After that Rachel returned to Richfield Springs, Otsego, New York closer to where her parents family lived.

Rachel's obituary states she was buried in Seward where she had lived. Her husband was buried in this cemetery, so her memorial is also placed in this cemetery.
