Velma Linck, age 87 of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Velma was born in Lebanon, Illinois on July 5, 1921, a daughter of the late Edwin and Anna (Bauer) Poole. Velma was a member of the Flippin Christian Church and a member of the Ladies Golf Club at the Rivercliff Golf Course in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike, on April 2, 2006. Velma and Ike were married on January 2, 1943.
Velma is survived by her three sons, James Linck and wife, Faye of Pocahontas, Arkansas, John Linck and wife, Susan of Little Rock, Arkansas and Kelley Linck and wife, Jami of Flippin; one daughter, Mary Kay Wright and husband, Jerry of West Plains, Missouri; two of three sisters, Erma Koessel of Aurora, Illinios and Margaret Parnell of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandsons and four granddaughters and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ike and sister Jean King.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20 between 5-7 p.m. at Flippin Christian Church with services being conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21 at Flippin Christian Church with Russ Dunham officiating. Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Wright, Ed Linck, Jeff Wright, Preston Linck, Marty Hall and Eric Coleman. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Flippin Christian Church.
