JENNINGS (Spl.) - Dan J. Doherty, 76, died at 2:45p.m. Wednesday in the Jennings American Legion hospital.
The body will remain at the Miguez Funeral home until time of services at 8:30 a.m. Friday from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic church. Rev. Charles Marin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the funeral home.
Mr. Doherty was born in Wakefield, Kans., and moved to Jennings 54 years ago. Before his retirement, he was active in the oil, cattle and rice businesses.
Survivors are his wife, the former Mary Mathilda Benjamin of Jennings; five sons, Dallas, Dennis, Glenn, Daniel and Dolan Doherty, all of Jennings; two daughters, Miss Ruth Doherty and Mrs. Ruby Husfeld, both of Jennings; one brother, William Doherty of Vivian; three sisters, Mrs. Charles {Ruth} Wales and Mrs. Glenn {Sarah} Lang, both of Vivian, and Mrs. Edward {Mabel} Dyess of Corpus Christi, Tex.; and nine grandchildren.
