Grady Prentice Lester of Uvalde died Aug. 14, 2003, at Wilford Hall Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 87. Lester was born in Robstown on Sept. 1, 1915. He married Mildred Evelyn Schendal in Corpus Christi on Sept. 3, 1939. He was a charter member of the Roadrunners and had been a member of the Uvalde Lions Club since 1943. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters; and one daughter, Jerilea Lester. Lester is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ruane E. Rennington of Granbury and Judy Kay Lester of Lancaster, Calif.; one son, Bob Lester of Uvalde; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held yesterday at 11 a.m. at the Uvalde Church of Christ with Ted McElroy officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements by Rushing-Estes-Knowles.
