William Henry Fehsenfeld, retired president of the Travelers and Merchants' Association and trustee of Goucher College, died yesterday at the Home of the Incurables. He had been ill for five years and recently suffered a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. tomorrow at the Pro-Cathedral of the Incarnation, of which he was a trustee and one of its founders.
Canon H.N. Arrowsmith of the Pro-Cathedral will officate. Burial will be in Loudon Park.
Mr. Fehsenfeld was born in Baltimore, 73 years ago, the son of Louis and Helen Fehsenfeld. He graduated from City College and entered the cigar business, but at an early age changed his career to the oil business.
During World War I, he placed his services at the disposal of the government as "a dollar-a-year man".
He was a member of the board of the Amsterdam Casualty Company and a director of the Commerce Trust Company for a number of years. He also was president of the Island Petroleum Company of Pittsburgh and retired presdient of the Red C Oil Company. He had also been a member of the Merchants Club and Baltimore Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. SarahW. Fehsenfeld and three daughters, Mrs. Katherine F. Gminder of Baltimore, Mrs. Dorothy Leithhiser of Havre de Grace and Miss Ellen W. Fehsenfeld of Baltimore. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
