Anthony Leopold Brulia, 803 Mount Vernon Avenue, Huntingdon, died at 3 a.m., Monday, April 1, 1963, at the home of his son, John C. Brulia, same address. He had been in failing health for six weeks.
The deceased was born in Ogulin, Yugoslavia, on June 13, 1874, a son of Leopold and Catharine Brulia. He was united in marriage in 1902 to Thelma Catherine Verbanac. She preceded him in death on March 18, 1960.
Mr. Brulia was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Huntingdon. He also belonged to the Smithfield Fire Company and the home association of William P. Spyker American Legion Post, Alexandria.
He worked at the Alexandria brick plant for 25 years, retiring in April, 1942.
He is survived by these children: Mrs. Joseph (Annie) Bailey, Alexandria; Mrs. Mary Meyash, Frank Brulia, John C. Brulia, all of Huntingdon; Peter Brulia, Altoona, and George D. Brulia, Philadelphia. Two sons and two daughter s preceded him in death. Sixteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Francis Ackerson will officiate and interment will be made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Williamsburg. Friends will be received at the Grove funeral home in Alexandria after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock.
