The Sunbury Gazette 13 Jan 1882 has the following:
DEATH OF AN OLD SOLDIER. Mr. John Bartholemew, of Turbut township, aged 87 years, and a pensioner of the war of 1812, died on the 26th, and was buried in Harmony cemetery on the 26th ult. By trade he was a stone mason, and followed it until within a few years of his death. He was an industrious and worthy citizen. His funeral, notwithstanding the weather, was largely attended by relaties, neighbors and embers of the Grand Army of the Republic. - Milton Argus.
