Lloyd Logan, 27-year- old California racing pilot, met with a fatal mishap at the William Grove Speedway while, attempting to turn in a qualifying time trial to record the first fatality at the outstanding Pennsylvania racing plant since its opening . The victim of the fatal accident was appearing at Williams Grove for the first time although he was known throughout certain midget auto racing circles in the East.He met his death while attempting to negotiate the banked first turn on the oval and his racing mount struck the guard rails and hurtled over a 12-foot embankment.
Logan's fatal accident was witnessed by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Logan. who left for Brooklyn, NY, where the Californians had been making their temporary home to make arrangements to accompany the body of her husband to their home In San Louis Obispo, California.
