--John Pearce Sr., 51, 207 W. 7th St., died suddenly Wednesday of a heart attack while at the home of Cecil Crouch, 365 N. Fremont St.
--He was born Jan. 10, 1901, in Peru, to John and Grace (Gustin) Pearce.
--Surviving are the widow, the former Beatrice L. Kunkle to whom he was married April 24, 1920; three sons, John Jr., W. Joseph and E. D.; two daughters, Wilma and Mrs. Melvin Flaherly, all of Peru; seven grandchildren; one brother, Leonard of Fulton; one sister, Mrs. Cecil Hilgeman and a half sister, Mrs. Paul Whitesel, both of Peru.
--He had lived in Peru all his life and was a member of the Eagles, Moose, and the Peru Male Chorus.
--He was employed by the H. A. Thrush Co.
--The body was removed to the Eikenberry Funeral Home, where friends may call ater 2 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery.
